chemistry=puzzles

I had an epiphany in biology today: molecular structure is just a bunch of little games of Hashiwokakero.

This is easy.

Well. Ish.

It can get a lot more complicated that that, but I suppose as an understanding it will do for icky biological foo. :p

Hee! Be sure to point this out to your TA; s/he will surely get a grin out of it!

And conversely, having never seen that puzzle type before, I figured it out just from your comment that molecular structure is just like it. Heh.

That's about right! Now you understand valences and how not to cross the streams. Er, bonds. Well, that part doesn't match Hashiwokakero quite as well, so just stick to the valences. :-)

A wonderful game. I, however, wish the clock would stop automatically once the puzzle is solved, instead of having to press a button to stop the clock. It could be right, but you wouldn't know.

Meh. And yes, I do see a bit of semblance between molecular structures and Hashiwokakero. Nifty find.
