Hmm... if you don't have any way of contacting him/her, could you either make it up or say the person requested anonymity? Or just put an asterisk like name changed to protect identity? (And can you tell I have spent many years writing reports for the government? ;) )
I actually managed to find a list of students on the new Blackboard website, so it's all good. Thanks for the tips, though- I'll remember them if I ever find myself in a situation like this again.
