Trip schedule

I've been getting spam from some interestingly christened people lately:

Pursuer D. Contentiously
Deadlines P. Palace
Tart U. Seethed
Demarcated J. Slunk
Snorkeled J. Belligerent

I talked to Aunt Amanda, and we decided to go to Boston despite the lack of scheduled tours at the colleges I want to visit. I'll do self-guided tours where I can find them, and I guess just walk around campus at the ones without self-guided tours. I found another part of the Harvard website that says there is in fact a tour on Saturday afternoon, so I'll have to call them to confirm. Sarah Lawrence is the only other one that wants me to call ahead of time; the rest are drop-in tours.

8/11 (Friday): Arrive in NY at 7:00
8/12: Drive to Boston; visit Harvard
8/13: Visit Brandeis and/or Tufts and/or Boston U; possibly hang out with [livejournal.com profile] hahathor and/or [livejournal.com profile] cramerica
8/14: Visit Brown; drive back to NY; Johnson family dinner
8/15: Visit Sarah Lawrence; hang out with Leah in the evening
8/16: Spamalot at 2:00, dinner with Rose (& Francis & Jon?)
8/17: Visit Columbia with Rose; puzzle gathering in the evening at Chainsaw's
8/18: Leave NYC; visit Vassar
8/19: Visit Williams, Amherst and Hampshire
8/20: Visit Wesleyan; drive back to NY
8/21 (Monday): Leave NY at 11:30

Yeah, I'm gonna be busy. I'm looking forward to it immensely. I'm bringing the third season of "Scrubs" with me (again, yay Charles), just in case I have some free time, but I somehow doubt I'm going to get around to watching much of it.

Cord's in California, and it sounds like he's ready to head right back to Japan for the remainder of his days.

Busy week!

Can I join you and Rose at Columbia?

Also, have you considered Bard? It's not far from Vassar so you might be able to squeeze it in on the same day.

Eric Berlin's wife Janinne went to Sarah Lawrence.

Sure! I'll let you know when we have a more concrete time schedule.

Ooh, someone else mentioned that one. The website makes it look pretty good, and I think I actually can do it on that day, though the times will be a little tight.

One of my best friends went to Bard (of course, this was in the late '80's). It's an interesting school, sort of a magnet for smart, didn't-really-fit-in high school underachievers. It reminds me a lot of Reed (or I suppose the other way around).

And for trivia, it's Chevy Chase and Donald Fagin's alma mater. And also, according to legend, home to the pump which "don't work 'cuz the vandals took the handles" in Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues".

I've been getting those as well. I rather like them. I think my favorite so far is "Replying I. Xylophonists". Now *there's* a name!
