I will let go/If you will let go/Four, three, two...

Here's Ben Folds' fake new album, leaked by Ben Folds, and here's a story about how this happened. Everyone, including Ben Folds, seems to like "Bitch Went Nutz" best, but I really love "Cologne."

I just pulled it down and listened myself... w00t!

He's playing here in about a week, but it doesn't look like I'm gonna go. Waaah! Still... I'll definitely pick up the new CD, so I'll have a little Ben in my life.

I kinda liked "Free Coffee."

My favorite is the "title" track "Way to Normal", probably just because it was the one that made me laugh out loud with its fakeness.

Also, and after a quick LJ interest check this is even more embarrassing, but this is my first official exposure to Ben Folds' music. Funny that a fake album has me interested in real ones.

DUDE. Okay, you need to hear "Rockin' the Suburbs" first. Then find "Luckiest" and "Not The Same." NOW. CHOP CHOP.

Yes ma'am, doing it now ma'am.

I did, I did. Rockin' the Suburbs was gettable in mp3 format with Pepsi Points (promotional gimmick that I think I mentioned once before). I need to give it more than the one listen it's had so far, but I did really enjoy the title track.

I have a great memory of that song: driving down the highway in St. Louis with [livejournal.com profile] thebitchingpost at two in the morning, with the volume cranked all the way up and both of us hollering out the lyrics almost loud enough to drown out the speakers.

...he still has my "I Can't Dance Without Arrows" shirt from that trip, come to think of it. I want that back.

That shirt description took me a moment to understand.

And for the record, I have indeed given the album several additional listens, and its greatness has been revealed.

Toljaso.

I saw him in concert. :D Mom was ridiculously pregnant and nearly tore the security guard limb from limb when she was told she couldn't bring in a folding chair.
