iTunes-randomized song lyrics meme

I used to do this meme all the time, but haven't in a while. [livejournal.com profile] dr_whom reminded me of its existence. You guys know how this works: identify the songs from the first lines, comment, I'll strike through the ones that have been guessed. No Googling.

1. He's always trouble with his noncomplacent shotgun eyes
2. A long long time ago I had a bit of blow
3. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong
4. In the middle of the side of the road
5. Destiny was calling Monday afternoon
6. Now I've been happy lately
7. I know your eyes in the morning sun

8. I saw the scene unfold on a rainy Saturday
9. One day I went walking down a lonesome road
10. She's got eyes like Zapruder
11. There's a plastic dwarf warlord
12. This is not love, this is not even worth a point of view
13. Took you in the vineyard a couple hours after I met you

14. What up dawg, what you been up to
15. Uh-huh, holy shit, it's about time you get off my dick
16. I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house

17. Oh my fair north star, I have held to you dearly
18. Girl, don't tell me that it's morning
19. In my dreams I'm dying all the time
20. Royal Canadian blended

21. She collapses
22. Tell you I'm not gonna leave but I do anyway
23. I used to be lunatic from the gracious days
24. I've learned how to wait (say forever)
25. Your cruel device

Ooh, is your #12 Gary Numan, Magnetic Fields, or something else? (I Die You Die)

[identity profile] jedusor.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! My version is the Magnetic Fields.

I recognize so many of these but I just woke up, so the only one I know is 13. Cape Town. Oh, RyRo...

[identity profile] jedusor.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
I love that song so goddamn much. Have you seen this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpR_DWFzb58)? "Jon retrieved it." XD

Oh, Ryan.

It took me a while to understand why everyone thought the song was so crass. "What, he took her to the wineyard! It's nice!" "No, he took her IN the vineyard," someone - who might have been [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound - said. "Oh..."

*g*

I love how half the songs on that album are about Jon's deep monogamous love for Cassie, and half of them are about Ryan partying and fucking his way through South Africa. La la la, a wedding ring is just a thing, love is all I'm really after, WOOOO VINEYARD SEX WITH A RANDOM! XD

20: Muse - Space Dementia ?

[identity profile] jedusor.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Close!

[identity profile] vvvexation.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. I'm familiar with #25 as a line in a song, but not as the first line in any song.

[identity profile] vvvexation.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Meep. Okay, turns out I was misremembering what order the lines went in. But I only found that out through looking it up, so I guess no cookie for me.

D'oh! Should have got that; I was dancing to it a couple of weeks ago. :-)

[identity profile] jedusor.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no clue who you are or why you're reading my journal, but yep! :P

[identity profile] ide-cyan.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Just surfing by via other people's flists and recognised that song.

#3 is similar though not identical to the first line of "Everyday People" by Sly and the Family Stone. (I don't actually know any of these...we have quite different tastes in music it seems)

[identity profile] jeffurrynpl.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
The only one I know is #7. So tell me..."How Deep is Your Love?"

[identity profile] qaqaq.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
3 is "Funny Honey" from the musical "Chicago".

5 - Sports & Wine - Ben Folds (I lurve Ben Folds <3)

7 - How deep is your love - The Bee Gees (my childhood! I used to be mad about that song when I was 5)

15 - HAHAHAHAHAHA! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabe! Hollaback Boy. So. Much. Love.

16 - What hurts the most - Rascal Flatts

17 - Mercy of the Fallen - Dar Williams (I have sooooo much love for Dar Williams, there was a time I listened to her the most)

19 - Moby - Porcelain

Obviously, I also immediately recognized Ryan Ross' lyrics of ridiculousness but they already had been guessed, lol.

She got 19 before I did (but I just knew the artist and album, not the name of the piece).

S-U-P-E-R-C-A-L-A-F-R-A-G-A... whaaaaaat! ♥ He totally needs to do more of those, Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani are not enough.

Without looking at other people's answers
