WHO, minus the spoilers
WHO was lovely, but I can't tell you guys much about it, since it's going to be run again in the Bay Area in November. So here's the censored version of my photo set from the event, with a few of Carrie's photos mixed in. I've left out all my pictures of locations that were thematic for their corresponding puzzles. (A few of these are oddly sized because I cropped out spoilers.)

Chilling at Carrie and Nick's before the event. They have an impressive TV/computer setup here.

The horde of white vans at each puzzle site got a little creepy after a while.

selinker shows off his extremely event-appropriate shirt.

At the opening dinner.

The view from our hotel room.

Not sure if
rhysara wants the reason for her friend's expression in this photo to be made public, but rest assured it was hilarious.

I think this team was called The Beevil League of Beevil. Mike misread it as "The Weevil League of Weevil," which I think would have been funnier.

One puzzle took place in this teapot.

Solving under the only available shelter.

Team Briny Deep apparently does this at every Game. I thought it was cute. They also wore pirate outfits the whole weekend.

Snoqualmie Falls was pretty awesome.

My team, Do Not Bounce. These folks are great. Would co-solve with again.

This is what Carrie looks like when a puzzle becomes relevant to her interests.

You can't really see how steep this was, but it was no fun whatsoever to navigate. Mike got covered in mud, and the rest of us got spattered too.

Briny Deep forgot to weigh anchor before setting off for the next puzzle, and crushed the hell out of the poor thing. I saw it later, patched up with duct tape.

Mike fuels his brain with chocolate.

Being evil. Mike really only managed "vaguely uncomfortable," and I think my evil cackle ended up as more of a giggle.

TK hangs out in the van, waiting for the next puzzle.

This has to be my favorite picture from the whole event. CREEEEEEPY.

I think this team actually did the Game without a van.

The view from one of the locations.

This is what I actually saw for the majority of the weekend.

Heh. (Not related to the event.)

Carl had a... laser shark? I do not know.

Winding down after the end of the event.

This was particularly frustrating as we'd made up crazy, crazy time on the bank puzzle and the squid one and were solidly in the middle of the pack going into it.
By the time we finished that set and got skipped on the others (which from the sound of it were the kind of thing we're actually good at, we were demoralized and we didn't recover for awhile. Add in a computer crash and the loss of our data two hours into the victorian's puzzle and we gave up competing in favor of limping along at the back of the herd and making friends with other teams.
