Damento, part III

Ben and Jenna offered yesterday to take me along to their Mormon church, and I was considering it, but I decided not to. I can visit a Mormon church pretty much anytime, but Damento only happens once a year.
Last night, Megan mentioned to me that she thought something might be going on between Leo and Olivia. Leo's messed up two of her friends pretty badly already, and I could tell she was stressed out about it, so I told her I'd talk to him. Today I took him aside and told him to stay away from Olivia, along with a couple other things that needed to be said. That was the only time I talked to him throughout the weekend.
Pretty much everything besides that went great. Chris's girlfriend kicks major ass. The reason I refer to her as "Chris's girlfriend" is because her name is Megan, and I don't want to get the two mixed up. Anyway, they had to leave around two-thirty. I didn't cry, but I sat on a bathroom floor staring at the wall for about twenty minutes. Then I talked to Zuriah for a while. We were both really tired, so the conversation was mostly along the lines of:
Zuriah: *says something about Irish dancing*
Me: "I know a couple of Irish dance steps."
Zuriah: "Ooh, show me!" *tugs on my arm*
Me: "That's my arm."
Zuriah: "I know. I have one too, see?"
Me: "I have two!"
Zuriah: "Me too, and mine have hands on the ends."
Me: "Mine too! We have so much in common!"
We chewed the last of the sugar cane (five and a half feet, not even cut until after noon yesterday) and then she had to leave. I bought some awesome juggling balls for six bucks. One has a kind of wavy skull-and-crossbones, one has a red and yellow fire pattern, and one looks like a purple and black soccer ball. I intend to start practicing now, because it's kind of silly for me to have gone to juggling festivals my entire life, know roughly a third of the people at this one, and still be unable to make more than fifteen catches with three balls. I could have learned before now, but I was never really interested. Now I am, so I will.
Melissa was there, and I gave her a backrub. She said I'm really good, and suggested massage as a way to get through college. I know it's expensive to go to massage school and to buy a table, but once past that point, it pays good money. I hadn't considered it before, but it's a possibility. I know I have a knack for it *grins at

The after-fest dinner was at The Spaghetti Factory. I was at a table with eleven people. I know I said it before, but I'll say it again: I really love the juggling community. The festival was over too quickly- I've noticed that each fest seems shorter than the last. Part of the whole thing about time speeding up as you grow older, I guess. I had a good time, despite Leo and the fact that the Damento Mementos and T-shirts sucked pretty badly.
On the way back, I noticed something I hadn't spotted before: the Lyon toads are gone! The real estate company Lyon used to have a series of ads leading up to one of the Davis highway exits. They featured a toad in various positions. And they're gone. This makes me sad.
I'm getting up tomorrow at seven, and I want to write in my paper journal before bed, so g'night.
