Friday: Jelly Belly factory. Whee. Hats and jelly beans. The roasted garlic flavor wasn't nearly as good as it sounded. Then we went to a park and Jeanette took a metric arseload of pictures. Some of them turned out all right- this is Veronica, Jeanette's daughter, and Avery, her son. I think my figure looks nice in this one. Clay's buffed up since he started taking gymnastics classes. I really liked this one and this one turned out all right, too.

Saturday: We went to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, which had penguins, rap in the cafe, and samples of organic food, then to the Zeum down the street, which had a giant projection of that game where you tip the board to make the ball roll around a maze while you try to avoid holes, but you run around the screen on the floor to tip the board. Somewhere during all of this, I arranged to ride to [livejournal.com profile] vito_excalibur's birthday party with [livejournal.com profile] ratontheroad. The party itself was awesome- it involved pie tins that were not in fact pie tins, flying limes, a lot of cool people I'd never met and several that I had, and no less than three mentions (three! In completely different conversations by completely different people!) of wax hair removal. I went to sleep at around five-thirty or so.

Sunday: The hostess most kindly gave me a lift to the BART station far earlier than anyone should be stirring after a party such as that, and I proceeded to visit both Mom's parents and Jeffrey's dad. I tried to make pasta with peanut sauce at Grandpa Bob's, but they don't eat sugar or salt (such care for their health, as Clayton pointed out, and yet they smoke) so it didn't work all that well. I descended and climbed maybe half a mile of steep stairs (part of the Dipsea trail), then we went back to Dublin and I crashed.

Today: I gathered my stuff from around the house, packed it all up, and went to the airport. The flight went smoothly- the guy I sat next to had his shirt inside out, which amused me far more than it should have. I think I lost a few brain cells on the Dipsea stairs. (I also lost my ability to lower myself onto a chair without calf pain. I need to get into shape.) I met up with Mom and Bill on their way back from Washington, and we all piled into the van and went home. Mom puppy-dog-eyed Bill into going to EB Games and getting Karaoke Revolution, which she had played and apparently kicked ass at during the Halflab post-party. Bill got it used, though, and it didn't play, so no karaoke tonight. We did play a bunch of DDR, and I'm loving the new pad more than ever, although my legs are writing letters to the editor about calf abuse.

EDIT: Oh! Oh! How could I have forgotten? I got a poster and a card and a French magazine from [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound, and have been alternately squeeing over the poster and obsessively poring over the magazine all evening. Thank you, Jem, thank you very very very much!
