[livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound asked me to explain these icons:

This is from this comic strip. I've never been all that into Achewood, and I don't read it often (usually only when [livejournal.com profile] shoutingboy links to it), but I liked this one. I like the idea of finding joy in unexpected places, and plus, it's funny.

Dude, try it. Burt's Bees chapstick is tingly and tasty and wonderful, and putting it on my eyelids wakes my nerves right up. It's good for when I'm feeling sleepy but need to pay attention to something.

I use this icon when someone asks a question that could easily be found with a quick search. You'd be amazed how many people ask what STFW stands for, even with the Google logo on there as a clue. An alternative favorite is a link to a helpful website.

Long-time members of my flist may remember Dorothy, the worst babysitting client in the history of Kansas City. I could rant about her for a long time, but suffice to say that I pity her children, now that I don't have to deal with them anymore. Anyway, after a long night, my best friend Ben recommended Nyquil and duct tape as a solution. I don't use this icon much anymore, but I still find the quote amusing.

This is from this QC strip. Not much to explain, once you've read it.

Do they have Hello Kitty in France? (I ask because the person who asked me to explain this icon is French.) This is a pretty dumb joke I got from my first girlfriend, and it was one of the first icons I made, as evidenced by the plain text, lack of border, and terrible Photoshop job.

The best all-purpose excuse for everything.

And [livejournal.com profile] bookishfellow wants to know about these (minus two that had already been chosen above):

I think I found this image through a link in a thread on the npl-folk mailing list. It's a good WTF icon.

That's me at [livejournal.com profile] vito_excalibur's birthday party in January 2005. I've got a kind of "say what?" expression on my face that's good for comments/posts that don't quite merit the above WTF icon.

[livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound made me this one. I have no idea what it means, but it makes me grin.

ITMFA stands for Impeach The Motherfucker Already, a sorta-silly-sorta-serious campaign started by Dan Savage of Savage Love. I made it onto the website when I sent Dan an e-mail about my ITMFA experience on the bus.

I don't know where the phrase "has a flavr" originated, but it's become a lolcat staple. I made those muffins for breakfast after my goodbye-KC party, and they definitely did has a flavr. My mouth is watering just thinking about them (and I bet [livejournal.com profile] kat_nano's will too when she reads this).

If you want to play, comment and I'll ask you about seven of your icons.
