jedusor: (ventromedial prefrontal cortex)

My art history teacher assigned a "theme sheet" for this week; essentially, a piece of paper with doodles representing a person's main interests. He wanted it to focus mostly on academic interests. Here's what I came up with:

Photobucket

The purple/red bits, from left to right, and the aspects of them and their functions that interest me:
-Prefrontal cortex--judgment/decision-making, analysis, social behavior, planning.
-Nucleus accumbens--rewards, pleasure.
-Pituitary gland--oxytocin (a hormone that might have something to do with orgasms, trust, and love).
-Amygdala--emotional memory.
-Thalamus--sleep and consciousness.
-Postcentral gyrus--somatosensation, including pain and proprioception.
-Cerebellum--sensory integration.

The background is a crossword grid on the left and a Go board on the right. Go isn't really all that important to me--it's on there because I liked the way it looked with the crossword grid, and it sort of represents both games and, in a roundabout way, fandom.
