I find it utterly hilarious that, with 95% of the people I know, saying "g" in an IM means "giggle," but that in the NPL chatroom, it means "google."

Well, I guess it's hard to tell, but I know for sure that several people I know mean it as "giggle," and I'd never heard "grin" before you guys commented here...

Hmm. Maybe "giggle" is a teenage thing? Most of the people I talk to on IM are teenagers.

dude, i didn't know that people actually are lazy enough not to type in the whole word. "G" can mean anything that starts with a g. Although "Gangsta" comes to mind first.

It happens on IM a lot. I don't believe I've ever heard it used in a context that could mean "gangsta," though ;)
