My new hair

This morning, Mom suggested that we dye my hair before things get busy with trip preparation. I decided I wanted to cut it before we dyed it so as not to waste dye, and that I wanted to do something really interesting, so...

By the way, in case you couldn't tell, I've decided to pierce my right eyebrow. Incidentally, if you have any recommendations for a good piercing place in the KC area, please let me know before tomorrow.

(I do not know for sure, but i think, eyebrows should be done in a two step process with a hollow needle, not with the type of gun they use through ears. The needles must be sterlized in an autoclave. If you don't get a good vibe off the guy, go elsewhere.)

Date: 2005-07-15 11:37 am (UTC)You've been told correctly above, they don't use a gun for eyebrows. I'd go someplace that says they do "body piercing" instead of someplace that does mostly ears and happens to do eyebrows; somewhere that does a lot of other stuff will be likely to be very strict on hygiene. Things to look for in terms of vibe: cleanliness, of course; matter-of-factness and professionalism; a huge bin of latex gloves (the woman who did my eyebrow piercing changed gloves frequently because it's a multi-step process, and she needed to keep handling different things).
Mine only hurt for a bit, and I held onto the table for that instant; it only looked beaten-up/tender for about a day. Bactine is what they suggested for cleaning, and I was totally assiduous about keeping it clean, and I've never had a bit of trouble.
Can't wait to see a picture!
Hey, do you know about my real blog? I don't really ever write anything in the LJ. It's at: www.yarnivore.com/runblog -- thought I should make sure you knew.
Have fun!
