From
elainetyger, only I added comments to all mine because I'm me like that:
1. A song that makes you sad: "We Are The Champions" by Queen (they played it right after reading off the names of everyone who'd died from AIDS in the past year at the AIDS walk in April)
2. A song that reminds you of a vacation: "Consequence Free" by Great Big Sea (climbing Mount Rushmore...)
3. A song you really like, but are ashamed to admit it: "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls (*blushes*)
4. A song that you heard live: "Man, It's So Loud In Here" by They Might Be Giants (and on the line "everything's disco," a huge disco ball lit up and started spinning... DAMN, it was awesome...)
5. A song from a band constisting mostly of women: "All Hands On The Bad One" by Sleater-Kinney (I saw them live with
vito_excalibur, but they didn't play this song, unfortunately)
6. A covered song: "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Billy Boyd (yes, that Billy Boyd)
7. A song that instantaneously brightens your mood: "If I Were Gay" by Stephen Lynch ("if I were gay we would tear down the walls/but I'm not gay, so won't you stop cupping my... hand")
8. A song that is neither English, or German: "Oceano" by Josh Groban (I don't care if the neighbors play him too much or if
draughanten hates him for using tonal correction, I still absolutely love this song)
9. A song sung by a woman: "Into the West" by Annie Lennox
10. A song that makes you wanna dance: "Tainted Love" by Marilyn Manson (I cannot hear this song without bouncing all over the place like an idiot. This is a fact.)
11. An instrumental: "Popcorn" by Spiffy (I played this about a billion times in a row after this incident)
12. A song about sex: "All Day Long I Dream About Sex" by JC Chasez (oh god, oh god, I just realized this is the guy from N*Sync!)
13. A song from your favorite band: I refuse to label any one band my absolute favorite, but I do so love Pretty Hate Machine-era Nine Inch Nails. "Sanctified" is still my favorite NiN song.
14. A song from a solo musician: "Summertime" by Ray Charles (because dude, Ray)
15. A song that contains the name of a city: "Say Goodbye Hollywood" by Eminem
16. A song from a soundtrack: "The Night All The Lights Went Out" by the Ataris (notable only for the line "If I could make a wish tonight/I'd wish upon a satellite," one of the best lines I've ever heard)
17. A song that makes you cry: "Run" by Snow Patrol (but only sometimes, when I let myself)
18. The original from No. 6: "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears

If you want any song from either meme (except Britney's original version of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" *shiver*) I'll upload it for you.
EDIT: Dude, I just noticed the juxtaposition of numbers 12 and 13 of the second meme. I desperately want to make a Mel Gibson joke.
OTHER EDIT FIVE SECONDS LATER: And 16 and 17! O.o

Date: 2005-11-17 06:23 pm (UTC)Hey, I don't think you can say someone who counts Ben Folds among her top five favorite artists and "Mad World" among her top five favorite songs only likes screamy music. I like pretty much all music except bad country, bad pop and Johnny Cash. I happen to have heard the original German version of "99 Red Balloons," and one of the two covers I have sings one of the verses in German. It is indeed a beautiful song.

You really should know that one. Also, "Rainbow Connection". And I would be surprised if you'd heard some Alice Cooper. Or were you just looking at the as-yet-un-guessed ones?
