Well, Babel Fish said "reine de drague," but it's often wrong about idioms and phrases, so I tried Googling "drag queen" in French-only pages, and it came up with enough results to indicate that most people just use the English phrase. I did mention it to my teacher when I handed it in, and she said that she hadn't encountered the phrase in French, but that she would have used "tranvestite." She won't mark me down for it, though.
Well, sure, you could use "travesti" but a drag queen is more than just a transvestite, really. So I would have thought that using "transvesti" would have been an under-translation of the term, if you know what I mean. And you can tell your teacher that coming from a French person, people really do only use "drag queen" when they mean "drag queen". There is no equivalent, lol. "Reine de drague" does not even exist, not to mention it would mean something entirely different.
