I meant to post this a few weeks ago, when it actually happened, but I forgot.

So I've been having a sort of battle with the Penn Valley fitness center over a membership, which you already know if you read this regularly. If not: the rule there is no one under seventeen can have a membership, but I bought one anyway. They found out about my age the second time I tried to work out, but were confused as to what to do, as it's obvious from my school records that I'm an involved student in good standing with an exemplary GPA. It's gone through three levels of authority so far, and I still don't have a definite answer.

I always wear Zephyr, my iPod Shuffle, at school. The first time I went in to work out (the time they didn't catch my age), I had an urge to listen to "Wake Me Up (When September Ends)" by Green Day. This is not unusual for me- I often have cravings for songs. I turned Zephyr to that song and listened to it as I exercised. When it finished, during the pause between songs, I heard the strains of the same song over the fitness center loudspeakers. I smiled at the coincidence, but didn't really take much notice.

The next time I went in, as I was walking into the fitness center listening to Zephyr on random, the song turned to "Wake Me Up (When September Ends)". I paused the music to talk to the receptionist about my card, and guess what was playing on the fitness center sound system?

I know it's not that unlikely, since Green Day is way overplayed on the radio and I only have something like a hundred songs on Zephyr, but I still have to wonder if the universe is trying to tell me something. Especially since it's September.
