Scary bear at the Shakespeare festival. These bears are taking over Kansas City. There's one in front of a daycare center a couple of blocks away from my house, two in front of the Salvation Army on Linwood, and two at the Francis Institute at Penn Valley. They freak me out. I do not like them.

Sharai and I went to Westport on Thursday and I took some pictures of the graffiti in the alley behind Freaks.

I love this one.

Then we went out for ice cream. Yay for Cold Stone!

Pretty much the only driver I trust less than Eric.

Mom, Bill and Link at the fountain outside Stowers. I want to work somewhere with a fountain like that in front of it.

Blair was Dora and Rain was Raven. (If you're not a QC geek like us, you won't get it.)

Blair, all dressed up for the PotC midnight showing.

Link at Minsky's yesterday morning.

Rain's Italian soda was the only one that didn't taste vaguely of dishwater.

Strangely, the water itself tasted fine.

"Quit taking pictures of me, woman!"

Me with my sunglasses just fallen off, Rain looking like a pimp, and Blair trying not to be seen with us.

A slightly more normal picture.

Link was asleep when we got to the airport, so Mom asked me to take some pictures of planes to show him later. He loves seeing the planes at the airport.

At the gay shop, my third visit there this week.

Ethan and Rain at Tea Drops.

We went to the hat shop and tried on hats. This one came out blurry, but it's so Jay-ish that I had to post it anyway.

Ethan looked damn good in some of those hats.

She looks sunburned or something in this one, but she's not.

Deep in contemplation. Or confusion. With Ethan, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference.

We went to a place across the street that seemed to be a thrift store with really high prices, and kept trying on hats.

I like this hat with that shirt.

The necklace she's wearing is the lock for a diary. She taught Lincoln to say "emo heart" when she showed it to him.

After this pic, a chick who worked at the store snottily told us that photography was not allowed.

I love you too, Rain.

Ethan's emo face. Or, as Rain puts it, his "blank face, which everyone thinks is emo."

A newspaper stand outside Westport Coffeehouse. Johnny caught my eye.

Date: 2006-07-09 05:03 pm (UTC)As Mike and I drove to get to your house, I had a hard time remembering. If it weren't for scary bear, I wouldn't have known which street to turn on before turning on your street! I kept telling Mike, we turn by the scary bear, then I think this street, but no it's the next.
He was like, what kind of directions are those?
Directions from an intuitive visual person?
So, have you thought about vandalizing them?
Or are to too scared to touch them in any manner?

Date: 2006-07-10 01:46 am (UTC)I've thought about vandalizing them, but I don't think I'll really do it. Unless I think of a really, really funny thing to do. Maybe on Halloween.

Those bears have already taken over the city. Weren't you here when March of the Teddy Bears happened? It was basically a repeat of what happened with the cows, except it was bears instead.

Date: 2006-07-12 06:47 am (UTC)The bear near my house is scarier than the Shakespeare bear. I'll post a photo as soon as I get them from Ethan.
