Hey, a boyfriend. Haven't had one of them in a while. A year and a half, to be exact.

His name's Richard. (No, not the Spectrum jerk.) I met him at a Fourth of July party this summer, and we've talked a couple of times on the phone since, then we hung out today and decided we really, really like each other. And he's not quite comfortable with poly.

So yep, I'm giving the monogamy thing a shot again. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I wasn't in practice (since I was thirteen, anyway, and that didn't really count because I was kind of just being a slut) but poly is certainly the type of relationship I'd prefer, given a choice. I think I'm okay with this for right now, though.

I have no pictures of him currently, but I'll see him on Friday and I'll try to get some then. Trust me, though, he is cute. I'll post them when I have them ;)

As for details... he's bisexual, which I'm thrilled about because I've never dated a bi guy. He's 21, but barely- he just had a birthday on November 30th. He goes to UMKC, which is right near my house, so distance shouldn't be a problem even though he lives about 25 minutes' drive away from me. He's a theater geek, and he's majoring in (squee!) political science and creative writing. He plays the bass, and he has the most adorable sense of humor, and I felt completely comfortable with him right off the bat, and we just really click ^_^

The plan is to hang out Friday. He wants to take me to a gig his friend's playing, but that's not till seven, so we might be able to conduct the Inquisition beforehand.

Huh? I said he's more okay with me messing around with girls. He doesn't have to be involved. I'm not sure why that is, as he's bi and oughn't to be more threatened by one gender, but *shrug* Societal brainwashing, p'raps. We'll work it out. I suspect he'll become more open to the idea of poly as he gets to know more about it; he doesn't seem terribly informed on the subject.

Sorry - as I said, it was an instinctive reaction and meant somewhat jokingly. I seem to be going a bit frothing-at-mouth feminist at the moment, perhaps as a reaction to Still Hurting and general messed-up-headspace-re-sexes Foo, and *squish*
