If you've never heard of a smoot (I hadn't until Saturday), I highly recommend reading the Wikipedia article. Smoot's eventual career amuses me more than anything else.

By the way, the Google calculator can convert Smoots to/from other units of measure. ACRONYM had fun a couple of Mystery Hunts ago, converting Smoots to parsecs.
