CA Trip, Installment 4
Mar. 16th, 2007 09:27 pmI had a wonderful day today with people I don't see nearly often enough.
cfb4629 picked me up around 9:15 this morning and dropped me off just after 7pm.

We blearily located breakfast. I showed Chris the half-and-half thing while we were waiting for our server. It took him a few minutes to figure it out.

Then we went to a lamp store, because dude, it was a LAMP store.

There were a lot of lamps.

A chandelier.

Preeeeeetty!

This is the Mountain View public library. Chris and I spent a good deal of time trying and failing to locate a recording of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, because I've never seen it, and apparently this fact needs to be remedied. We tried the library, a used bookstore, and Blockbuster before giving up.

Teh Market!

Chris's dog, Sable (sp?).

Awwww.

We met up with
devils_reject and her boyfriend Blair. Megan tends to flop, rather than sit.

I hadn't met Blair before today. He's pretty cool, though it'll take a lot to convince me that anyone is good enough for Megan.

I wore my horns, and Chris borrowed them for a while. Here's a picture of the same guy wearing the same horns in June of 2004 (with a 13-year-old me in the background). Later, we were walking through a parking lot, and this random kid told me, "Christian people rock!" I can only assume it had something to do with the horns, as there was no other obvious context.

Garth, Megan's little brother.

Chris waging war on Justin, Megan's other little brother. Justin was washing a car, and Chris borrowed Garth's water gun. It was amusing.

Then we went to an archery range, and Chris taught me how to shoot a bow. I've done it before, but it's been a long time, and I didn't have boobs then (a friendly fellow archer whose name I've forgotten gave me some tips for dealing with that problem). This was really, really awesome. I would very much like to be able to do it more often.

I spotted this on the way home and thought of Bill.
I offered to watch the kids tonight so Jeffrey and Jeanette could go out on a date, something that doesn't seem to happen too often for them. The younger two are in bed now, and Clay is happily absorbing a science fiction book on the futon. It's very peaceful, and I'm in a good mood. Maybe I'll take a stab at my statistics homework.

Date: 2007-03-17 07:42 am (UTC)That looks like it could have been Liberace's chandelier.
Dude, we could have watched Mr. Rogers when you stopped by my house. We have it on TiVo.
Beagle!!!
You are wearing a shirt that says "Sorry, I have a cat."

Date: 2007-03-17 03:35 pm (UTC)Amanda called yesterday (right after I took the picture that has Blair in it, actually) asking about the whole swimming-with-dolphins thing. I think I'm down with it. :)
