The Willa's Hats Project

This is a really neat project saxikath is working on, sending hats to kids with cancer. I don't knit, but I know a lot of people who do, so I'm passing the word along. Check it out.

In sort of the same vein, I talked to Ava's mother yesterday, and she told me that the five people who received Ava's organs are all doing well, which is awesome. I told her about Neil Gaiman linking the calendar on his blog, and she said that Ava's spirit was probably jumping around screaming with excitement. :)

She knew her daughter. Ava was excited about this calendar project, and she would have been absolutely thrilled about the Gaiman link, and Tamara knows that, so she's happy about them too.

For which I hold grateful. My mother is less-than gung-ho about the whole project (I love my mom, but I have to disagree with her on this), even though I've told her about if from square one.

Don't get me wrong. I love my mother to death, but I realise that in the long run, I'm a whole lot more liberal than her, and that's just how it may be. As long as I'm not an ass about it, and she's not an ass about it, we're fine.

I may not send a calendar to her, but I'll show it to her. Jake, on the other hand, definitely needs one. And I'm so autographing that.

Each of the models will get one free calendar, but I'm afraid that if you want an extra one for your brother, you're going to have to buy it. We're not going to come out ahead on the first run, so I can't really afford extra freebies. :/

Oh, I know. It'll be his birthday present from me, since his birthday's in January.

Don't worry about that. I read the rules the first time, and I know we need to really pimp it out. We'll make it. Don't you worry.

Jules, you should send a set of 13 calendars to all the models (and Tamara and yourself) and get signatures from all, so you each have an autographed copy (you can even do notes to each other if you mark which calendar goes to which model at the end, which might be really nice for Tamara, come to think of it).

I'll help fund postage, if you need it.
