I just did the first week of the One Hundred Pushups program and a ridiculous number of crunches, and am going to continue doing so on a regular basis. It is good for stress and also maybe I will be able to see a difference between my relaxed arm and my flexed arm! I'm excited.

I won't bore you guys with the details--the people over on [livejournal.com profile] rawr_comm will have to put up with that. This is just a hay-guyz-lookit post to motivate me to keep it up so as to be ready for people to ask me how the program's going in a month.

Not really. Pushups on the knees don't require as much effort as formal ones do. When you're building muscle you have to do reps to exhaustion and the faster you reach that point the less time you have to spend working out. Longer workouts and more reps isn't always a good thing.

Wow, I just realized how horribly insensitive that came off! Kudos to you for doing pushups period! I was just trying to give some advice about sets and all that and I totally came off like a jerk and I'm sorry ^^;

I've been doing 100 pushups. I've found that I've had to repeat most weeks, because it moves faster than I do, but that's OK. I was at the gym on Saturday & got a peek of myself in the mirror - my upper body looks better than it has in years.

Have you tried the alternatives the site suggests, the knee pushups and wall pushups and so forth?
