I can't believe this is even debatable. I can't believe that in a society we consider civilized, I have to actually present a structured argument against cutting off pieces of babies when they're born.
Well, from what I've heard, there are significant differences in the procedure in a bris versus circumcision in the hospital at 3 days. Also, in the former case, the parents are clearly choosing and arranging for the circumcision, whereas sometimes in hospitals it's done without the parents being aware or giving informed consent. (And also it's probably easier to argue the medical merits of intact versus circumcised without bringing religious beliefs into it.)
Sometimes boys are circumcised later in childhood for medical reasons of the foreskin not retracting properly, and that also seems like a separate case from a debate standpoint.
