jedusorI discovered today as I walked up to the mailroom that there are just the right number of stairs that I can tap out the Mission Impossible theme with my feet. This makes me ridiculously happy. *is apparently easily amused*
The people who just moved in across the hall have decided the place is too quiet and needs a bunch of heavy metal played at high volumes to fill the void in our too-calm lives. Right when Lydia and Melissa have finally stopped blaring rap music, too. Bleh. I'll wait to see if they tone it down at night before I bug Tara about it.
We're done with basic neurophysiology (SO COOL) in Bio of the Brain, and have started in on neuroanatomy, which is also SO COOL. I'm trying to find a 3D puzzle-type model of a brain to help me learn the various parts, but it turns out brain models are Not Cheap. The only one I can find under $20 is tiny, and the ones that look good are upwards of $300. Maybe I'll get some clay or something and make one myself.
I'm not normally the kind of person who goes "awww" at this sort of thing, but the punchline caught me off guard and made me awww before I could stop myself.
You know how sometimes there's someone you see on a regular basis, and they're really smart and you want to hang around them more, but you can't shake the sense that you're annoying them because they're so much more intelligent than you? Someone like that explicitly told me yesterday that he likes talking to me. I love it when people squash my insecurities of their own volition like that. It's so much more satisfying than when they try to soothe insecurities they already know about.
