It's totally not fair that you get to be twenty-one while those of us actually interested in consuming alcohol have to wait. :P (For the record, sake is way better chilled.)

There is sake meant to be chilled, and sake not meant to be chilled, and the one will not do service for the other.

Likewise... there are people meant to be drinkers, and people not meant to be drinkers. If you be one kind, envy not the other. :)

Double-whammy proverb, maybe. Japanese, no, at least not the second one. From observation here, it would be more like "there are people meant to be drinkers, and there are people still under 20." It's a stereotype, but they do love their alcohol here.
