Productivity!

Things What Got Done Today:

1. Garage-sale hunting. Yielded a coffee table, a side table, a bookshelf, a blender, and a few other cooking-related items. We're still on the lookout for a bed type thing that will fit in Mike's tiny Kia Rio--possibly a foldable futon or something similar.

2. Wal-Mart trip. Yeah, I know, but Mike had gift cards, and it is convenient when trying to buy a whole bunch of household things in one place. Sigh. Anyway, we got a lot of things that make the place feel more homey (shower curtain, purple kitchen trash can, frog-shaped bath mat).

3. Grocery store. Mmm, fresh produce. Also stocked up on soda for Mike. The boy is truly ridiculous about his Diet Coke. It makes kisses taste funny. But I guess it's a good sign that after a week of being together almost nonstop, the biggest problem we've had is Coke kisses.

4. Stopped by the sublet to pick up the last few things and leave the keys. The @Cave is now officially our home. :D

5. Cooked up a big batch of tomato sauce and put it in a Tupperware for future use. Also started some cucumber salad marinating in the fridge and blended up a couple of very nomful fruit smoothies. Tonight I plan to bake cookies. Oh, and I made home-fried potatoes for breakfast. I am liking this kitchen very much, and plan to use it often.

I haven't made those, although I've had them at restaurants and liked them. Trying to cut down on the onions and garlic, since my breath is now relevant to someone besides me, but I'll keep the recipe on hand. :)

The Coke taste does wear off sooner than onions/garlic. And I won't kiss him when he's been drinking Coke. :P

The green onion pancake looks delicious! I want to try it. We like making corn meal "pancakes" with snipped green onions to put on top of bowls of chili when the weather turns cooler. *wistful*
