Makin' sushi with Cord
Jun. 7th, 2010 02:46 amA few pictures from the Asian dinner we made while Cord was here.

The sushi chef at work.

Dinner! Sushi: tofu (marinated in rice vinegar, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil), avocado, carrots, cucumber, and sesame seeds, with pickled ginger on the side. Sweet-and-sour pineapple tofu: this, with fresh pineapple and minus the bell pepper. Broccoli: just sauteed for a while in vegetable oil with garlic, ginger, a splash of rice vinegar, soy sauce, and a little water.

Om nom nom. Note the kana on the whiteboard behind him--while Cord was here, he helped me and Mike learn the entire hiragana alphabet and start in on katakana.
By the way, if anyone isn't on my cooking filter and wants to be (or is and doesn't want to be), let me know. I'm not filtering this because Cord's in it; usually my cooking posts are just food pics and recipes.
