* Scan my interest list in my userinfo and pick out the one that seems the most odd to you.
* I'll explain it.
* Then you post this in your journal so other people can ask you about your interests.

I just got over a big hurdle with the book. Hopefully it'll go smoothly from here *crosses fingers*

And I have been recruited as my mom's DDR coach. Like... seriously. O.o

Oops.

COOKIE LIBERATION!

(I will have you know that my cookies are perfectly free, voting members of society.)

I was fetching a cookie from the cookie jar, and it struck me how dark and cramped it must be inside a cookie jar. Granted, I was only removing it to eat it, but isn't misery the fate of all liberated peoples? Anyway, I decided that cookie liberation is definitely an activity I am interested in, so I added it.

Draco/Ron.

I mean, not that I think that it's that odd or anything, but I'm always interested in seeing why people ship the more minor pairings.

D/R is my slash HP OTP (and Draco/Ginny is my het OTP) for the following reason: in order to write the pairing in character, it has to be love/hate. A well-written love/hate is my favorite kind of fic. Rhysenn (http://www.rhysenn.morethanart.org) has done at least one good D/R, I believe, and [livejournal.com profile] macabresinclair wrote me an absolutely gorgeous D/G a little while ago.

Plus, I'm not really into the most popular pairings in any fandom (RPS excepted). That's why I don't do very much PotC fic; because there are only so many pairings that make any sense.

O.o <--- That face thing.

Hiptops (http://www.danger.com/), renamed as Sidekicks by T*Mobile (the distributor), are amazing little things. They're cell phones, about the size of a bar of soap. The screen flips out to reveal a thumb keyboard, and they're equipped with wireless internet access, e-mail, IM, electronic calendar, notepad, games, and I don't remember what else. My mom even has this little, maybe one inch long, camera attachment that can take photos and e-mail them directly from the device. (I'm describing the original hiptop here, because that's what my mom and stepdad have, but they just came out with a new one.) I knew about this thing long before it was ever advertised or sold, because one of the first five people on the project was my stepdad's friend Ficus (full name Ficus Ulysses Carter Kirkpatrick, check out the initials), who is an evil genius, and I'm not even kidding. We have all kinds of evil-genius-Ficus stories. He let us play with his black-and-white prototype when he first got it.

Anyway, I really want one, but they're something like $300 for the unit plus $60 a month, so Jedusor doesn't get a hiptop. *sigh*

"death cab for cutie" - is it a band?

Yep, it's a band. My friend Ben is completely enamored with them; I'm not quite that obsessed, but I do like them. I got to see them live on October 15th, the same day I met my current boyfriend. I have no idea where the name came from. I'll post a couple of songs on YouSendIt if you want. (I'll try, anyway- I'm not entirely sure how to work it...)

Nice coincidence there.

Yousendit is fairly self-explanitory. It shouldn't be hard to use.

bad judgement

Hee. When I was twelve, my parents were going through this huge custody battle for me and my brothers, and my dad claimed that my mom had "bad judgement." A few weeks afterwards, my mom said something slightly inappropriate (I don't even remember what it was, a cuss word or something fairly minor) and my soon-to-be-stepfather said, "Careful what you say around the kids. You know, that's bad judgement." [livejournal.com profile] rubrick was present as well as the rest of the family, and ever since then, whenever a sexual reference is made or a subject of questionable moral content is breached, someone will occasionally say, "Bad judgement!"
