Does life get any better than this?

Highlight of my month: getting off the bus two blocks from the library and walking ten steps before the rain starts crashing down... eating Wendy's fries and licking ketchup off my fingers while feeling that utter exhilaration and thrill that comes with hard, fast downpours... listening to the Time Warp and singing along at the top of my lungs because no one cares and it doesn't matter if they did, because the pounding of the rain and the thunder drown me out and everyone's windows are rolled up tight... walking into the library dripping wet and smeared with ketchup and completely elated and knowing that just for a few minutes, everything is absolutely perfect and there's nothing wrong, I've panicked with schedules less busy than mine right now but that doesn't matter because I can handle it, I am capable, I am intelligent, I am happy.

Memories like that are the ones that I dig up when things seem sucky. Just knowing that I've felt like that before and I will undoubtedly feel like that again is enough to get me through pretty much anything.

I absolutely love rain. I want to move to Portland and go to Reed and sit out in the rain all the time. People who say it makes things dreary and boring are people who just sit inside and stare out the windows. You have to be out in it to really understand.
