Okay, so I'm walking in the AIDS walk on Saturday, and Student Ambassadors has had a table out in the Penn Valley cafeteria all week to spread information and ask for donations. This afternoon, I was hanging out behind the table with Sharai and a couple of other friends, asking passersby to donate. A guy I met at the talent show last semester walked by, and I said, "Hey, would you like to donate to the AIDS walk?"
He shook his head and said matter-of-factly, "I have a cat."
As he disappeared around the corner, we all looked at each other, trying to figure out if anyone else had understood. Nope. Didn't make sense to any of us. I guess cat owners just aren't obligated to donate money to AIDS.
Now that's going to be my all-around excuse for everything. "Sorry, Mom, can't wash the dishes tonight- I have a cat." "Hey, I can't make it to the meeting tomorrow, I have a cat." "No, I won't be at church, I have a cat."
