When a friend dies- a young, intelligent, amazing friend, full of potential- it really fucking sucks.

When the same thing happens less than three months later, I just wonder what's wrong with the universe.

Larry Marks died in a car accident last Tuesday. Mindy found out this morning, and I heard the news this afternoon. Larry was incredibly intelligent, dedicated to everything he did, and always smiling and positive. He was a straight-A student, a traveler (I believe he was in Arizona when the accident happened), and a father to his baby girl. I got to know him best through the Youth Political Summit last semester, when he came to planning meetings dead on his feet from sleep deprivation and insisted on helping stuff envelopes instead of napping. Like Evan, he could have done amazing things with his life; and like Evan, now he won't.

I don't believe this.

And Grandma is back in the hospital...

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I hope it helps a little to know so many folks are thinking of you, as you are thinking of your friend. He sounds like a wonderful person.
