Nader? I 'ardly know 'er!

I saw Ralph Nader speak a few hours ago. He's doing some stunt, trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most political speeches in one day or something. (And he told us, with a straight face, that he's doing it in an effort to get people to take him seriously.) I was right up front, so I got to dodge the spit flecks while he yelled about corporations and how Barack Obama is the Antichrist. I did like what he said about marijuana legalization--that even if addiction is a problem, it's a health problem like nicotine addiction, not a criminal problem. And he ended with the word "bullshit." Most of it was geared very well toward college students, but he screwed himself over by demonizing Obama.

It was interesting, anyway. Worth waiting the 45 minutes he was late.

MA currently has a question pending on the ballot about decriminalizing carrying less than an ounce of marijuana, which of course has a ton of people up in arms and freaking out. Lots of fun. Heh.

Believe me, I know. I live on a college campus in Massachusetts, remember? I hear more about that question than I hear about Obama. Seriously.

That's reasonable, as a Massachusetts vote in the presidential election doesn't matter much while a vote on the ballot is actually meaningful. I wish I heard more discussion of ballot questions than about Obama.

But really, do you think the greyhounds see more than 3% of their income? We should be taxing their keepers into the ground, thereby killing two idioms with one cliche!
