It's amusing, but doesn't it play too much to the base? Would something like this work to convince someone who was planning to vote "yes" out of mindless conformity?
My idea for a "No on 8" commercial would be to have lots of heterosexual couples whose marriages would have once been illegal (due to racial or class distinctions) look at the camera and say things like "In 1842, we wouldn't have been able to get married." "Until 1967, our marriage would have been illegal." Get some kids in the picture, too. Then build up to gay and lesbian couples, again some with kids in tow, saying "In 2007, our marriage would have been illegal."
Then end with the payoff line: "In 2008, don't send California back to the Dark Ages. Vote No on 8."
I think the "swing voters" here will be persuaded more by heartwarming appeals to the true value of a family and by pointing out how historical injustices have been corrected than by the sort of (admittedly) clever and witty approach in the video you posted.
That did occur to me, and your idea would probably be more effective, but this is still better than the "unnecessary! unfair! wrong! bad! horrible!" crap they're spending money on now.
My cynical response is that the people who think gay marriage shouldn't be legal are also squicked by interracial marriage, and that ad wouldn't seem heartwarming to them, it would come across as threatening.

Anyway, my two cents.
