But re: the countries website: a whole-hearted "meh." After rejecting "united kingdom", "great britain", and "england", it took the first two letters of "ukraine" as "uk". Wholly underwhelming.
It does take "United Kingdom". You must have made a typo. (And it shouldn't take "Great Britain" or "England", since those aren't the name of the country.)
Indeed; confirmed. I must have made a typo. (Rest assured that I only tried "England" and "Great Britain" on the basis that if the damn thing couldn't spell United Kingdom, it might also be confused about the name of the country. ;-) )
Congrats! I did it just now and got 186 out of 195 ... but most of them were ones I wouldn't have missed if I had been using the individual continent maps. On this map, it's just impossible to see what you haven't covered yet. (I mean ... Greece? Venezuela? Obviously I'd have gotten those, I just couldn't see that they hadn't been covered yet.) So I guess that makes it even more impressive, since you not only have to name the countries, you have to do it getting a very limited amount of feedback about which ones remain to be gotten.
Yeah, that's the trick. I was getting all of them on the continent quizzes a while before I got all of them on the full map because of the feedback thing.
Note that I was doing this obsessively for a day and a half before I managed it, in large part because I was so terrible at it when I started that I decided I needed to improve. So it's more a feat of rote memorization than of actual knowledge. :P
