I think I might marry him. Or better yet, since he's in Japan, have Cord marry him and bring him back here for lovely background noise during family holidays.
My plot will probably be foiled by my brother's sexual orientation. Although I don't think he has ever specified that, so you never know! Also, how could anyone resist Daichi's charms?
Ooh ooh ooh, potential Kit visit! *bounce* I'll still be living in Worcester this summer, about a mile away from where I live now. You'd fly into Logan Airport in Boston and take the commuter rail out--my residence isn't far from the train station (and of course I'd pick you up at the airport).
I don't know if I can direct-link to this or not: a list of flights (http://travel.travelocity.com/airgchoice.ctl?SearchMethod=BestFareFinder&trip_option=roundtrp&dep_arp_cd(1)=kansas%20city&arr_arp_cd(1)=boston&module=calendar&adult_pax_cnt=1&chld_pax_cnt=0&senior_pax_cnt=0&frontDoor=Y&departure_dt=May&arrival_dt=Aug&Service=TRAVELOCITY&pref_aln=all&FromTF=true).
If it doesn't work, go to travelocity.com, fill in "kansas city" and "boston" and hit "flexible dates." (Expedia and Orbitz are also decent flight-comparison sites, but their flexible-dates algorithms aren't as good).
Ooh. If I spent practically nothing once I got there, I might be able to get there. :p (No eating at restaurants all the time like I did in SFO, I mean. And don't let me go to a Pier 1! :p Am poor now.) I don't think I care what airline it is, as long as they give me a spot to sit and let me have music and a book.
Also, it will be summer soon, and I won't be eating at the deli two days a week, so I may be able to save a little more money. We'll see. I would absolutely love to come up there. I'm also trying to figure out if I can go see Rain before she goes to Russia. Right now I have a week in the middle of May and four weeks from the end of July to the beginning of August that I don't have things planned in, assuming I don't get off my ass and ask one more person for a job reference so I can turn in an application to a bookstore that is probably not hiring. (But I'm almost guaranteed a job at the ice rink again, so if I keep track of my overspending, I can pay myself back. *cough*)
The subway/commuter rail trip from the airport is less than ten dollars--aside from that, you could probably get away with spending nothing at all. I'll feed you (you barely eat anything, anyway, so that won't break my bank) and my summer place is within a reasonable walk of the train station, the public library, downtown, a big park, and an awesome gaming/comic book store, none of which require spending money. Unless you find something really cool at the comic book store, of course. :P
And a few of the Boston Krewefolk have been talking about having puzzle parties more often, so maybe I can arrange to bring you to one and give you a taste of the awesomeness that is the NPL. Considering your love for Nikoli, I suspect you will be instantly hooked.
Dammit, you replied before I could change "Rain" to "Alice." :p
Oh SQUEE. Yeah, your area definitely sounds like somewhere I could get away with not spending a lot. I promise not to eat you out of house and home. (I am carefully not making a joke about eating you, for your information.)
And OOH OMG OMG. I just remembered that Amtrak goes to St Louis, so I wouldn't have to fly there. And it's like $60 roundtrip to do that. So if Alice is available in May, I think I could actually do that at least. And if I'm REALLY careful with my money, I might be able to come see you in July or August. And then if I'm EVEN MORE CAREFUL, I should still be able to make it to Spherecamp in December. Since that will most likely be a roadtrip in a car with multiple people, it won't cost as much as a plane. ...and then I won't take any trips for like three years. No, really! I know I said that after SFO, but I mean it this time! Mostly.
I know. =/ Planes are tricky. I have to do it now if I want it to be cheap, even though I would know better later if I COULD do it. XP I also have to ask Mom if we're going camping this year, as that affects whether I come see you in July or in August. When do your classes start?
Classes start August 31st, but I'll be moving sometime in mid-August, so July or early August would be better. Hey, I turn nineteen on July 15th, maybe I could throw a birthday party while you visit! ...oof. *is knocked over by deja vu*
Wrong part of July--I'll still be in class. :p ...oh hey. I just realised I do not know when my Spanish final will be, but I assume the finals week will be the very last week in July. =/ So somewhere within August 1 and 15 should work.
BTW, Amtrak from KC to St. Louis is like twenty bucks, so visiting Alice would be pretty cheap. And if you flew to Boston directly from there instead of from KC, it wouldn't even be round-trip.
Ha, I already looked it up. ;p It's more lik3 $30 now, though. Sigh.
Hmm. I'd been considering doing KC to St. Louis to Boston already, but I'd really prefer to spend at least a week with you each if possible, and I don't want to be already travel-exhausted when I get to Boston. :( I'm not so good at long trips.
eta: Aww, lookit that accidental 1337. I think I'll leave it.
Hey, you already had me in SFO for eight days! I've never visited Alice, and she's about to be gone for a WHOLE YEAR, so it's totally her turn. ;p Okay, here's an idea: you and I both show up at her place and all visit together. HOW ABOUT THAT?
SFO refers specifically to the airport. I certainly did not keep you in the airport for eight days. :P We say SF for the city, and the Bay Area when it's not specifically the city (we only spent a couple of days actually in SF).
FYI, Southwest's service to Logan from *anywhere* only begins in August. Logan's always been so overcrowded with flights that the associated costs of adding another airline have always kept Southwest out of Logan, but other airlines' cutbacks have finally opened the door for them.

eta: If that means Southwest DOESN'T fly to Logan from MCI until then...what's another good airline? XP I can't wait til August; I'll have class!
