Sidekick argh

A week or two ago, I started hearing about people having issues with losing data from their Sidekick smartphones. Mom lost everything from her phone soon afterward, and I got a message from the company saying not to restart the phone or let the battery run out. I've been very careful with it to protect my data.

...except just now, when I was browsing the web on my phone--at three (out of five) bars of power, which should be okay--and it completely randomly, on its own, turned off. Confused, I turned it back on, and NOW my data is gone.

Grah. Well, apparently Mom managed to recover most of her data, so hopefully mine isn't gone forever, but jesus. The hell?

One time, we got to the bus stop in Cotati and I realized I had left my luggage at the house. We went back and got it, and I still made my bus. Ever since, Grandpa has reminded me of the incident every time I object to going somewhere an hour early. Just because you're right once... :P

My non-smart phone has also taken to randomly powering off at times when it is not out of power. It is a mystery.

I've got most of the data on my computer from when I transferred it from my old phone to the Sidekick. And I haven't looked into the data recovery message they posted yet, so I might be able to get it back. Maybe later today, if I get enough GRE studying done.

Oooookay, and now my data is randomly back. Without me having done a thing. O.o? I'll take it, I guess.
