Sidekick argh

jedusorA week or two ago, I started hearing about people having issues with losing data from their Sidekick smartphones. Mom lost everything from her phone soon afterward, and I got a message from the company saying not to restart the phone or let the battery run out. I've been very careful with it to protect my data.
...except just now, when I was browsing the web on my phone--at three (out of five) bars of power, which should be okay--and it completely randomly, on its own, turned off. Confused, I turned it back on, and NOW my data is gone.
Grah. Well, apparently Mom managed to recover most of her data, so hopefully mine isn't gone forever, but jesus. The hell?
